Description

This is a frameset only, not a complete bike. Interested in a full build? Check out our Custom Bike Builder — custom Banshee builds qualify for discounts. Have questions about the frame or the build process? Just reach out!

What's included with the frame?

  • 12x148mm Boost Compact Dropout Kit
  • Banshee Monroe Headset
  • Seatpost Collar
  • ISCG Tab
  • Rear Axle

What dropouts do I need?

The Phantom works with compact or long dropouts for both 29" and mullet setups. Long dropouts add ~10 mm to the chainstay. We recommend the compacts in most cases, so those ship by default. Want longs instead? Email us after purchase.

More about the Banshee Phantom:

When the first prototype Phantom first hit the trails back in 2013 there really wasn’t a category for this kind of hard charging short travel 29er. “Downcountry” hadn’t been coined yet, and the 29er haters thought a bike with these numbers could only be for XC, and not any fun. Well, the Phantom helped establish a whole new classification without even meaning to. It was simply a bike that we enjoyed riding ourselves. The Phantom V3.2 still spearheads the fact that short travel 29er’s can be a blast to ride.

The playful Phantom V3.2 sports the KS2 linkage with 115mm of travel. Incredible trail feel with the perfect amount of feedback that rewards you for nailing the perfect line, yet lets you flirt with the limits for when you push things. The Phantom V3.2 really provides that amazing flow state synergy between the rider and trail that we all dream about. Even better yet, you can mullet this bike (compact dropouts recommended).

7005 Aluminum

Compared to most aluminum bikes which use 6061 aluminum, Banshee's 7005 will endure the gnarliest conditions.

Optimized Kinematics

The new KS2 linkage structure is the culmination of 3 years of work and over 10 years of experience. This linkage system optimizes Banshee's leverage ratios, anti-squat, axle path and anti-rise profiles.

Forged Sections

Ultimate strength for forged parts is around 9% higher than machined from billet due to the alignment and size of the grain structure.

Banshee's near-net forging approach minimizes material waste and machining time, leading to a more environmentally friendly process.

The outcome is a robust, lightweight frame with a reduced carbon footprint.

Thing rips

Shipped quick, packaged well. Thing is an absolute unit for a short travel bike. Clean, stiff, reasonably light, geo is proper. Can't really ask for more.

Shiny

Frameset was packaged well and arrived as described. Greatly appreciate the included headset and adjustability of the frame. Easiest internal cable routing of all my bikes by far. Only thing I noticed is the rear tire clearance is TIGHT. I have a 2.4” Delium Fast installed in the back and there’s maybe a few mm of clearance with the frame. Haven’t finished the build yet so can’t speak to riding it
