About the Darco

The Darco Ti is the titanium version of Chromag’s steel Darco. Same kinematics, same geometry, same intentions — but with a full 3Al/2.5V titanium frame. No steel front triangle here. It’s the same silhouette, but lighter, stiffer in the right places, and noticeably more refined in feel.

You still get 120mm of rear travel, paired with a 150–160mm fork, and the same 4-bar Horst link layout. The suspension character stays planted and predictable, and Chromag didn’t change anything weird going from steel to ti — which is good. You get all the Darco ride traits, just with a premium chassis.

Titanium does what titanium always does:

  • kills trail buzz

  • stays quiet

  • lasts forever

  • shrugs off weather

  • looks good without trying

  • won’t dent from a stray pebble

The frame is fully fabricated in small batches, the welds are clean, and the hardware choices remain standard. Nothing proprietary hiding under the paint because there is no paint. Enduro Max bearings like the steel Darco, same shock mounting, same service layout.

The Stash Take — Why This One Is Cool

  • This is a boutique full-suspension frame done in ti, not a ti hardtail with a linkage bolted on.
Most ti FS frames on the market look like science experiments or weigh a ton. Chromag kept it clean, functional, and usable.

  • Ride feel is the upgrade.
Compared to the steel Darco, the Ti version is a little crisper on hard hits and a little calmer on trail chatter. You still get that grounded Chromag personality, just with a nicer chassis underneath.

  • The weight drop is noticeable — but not the point.
You’re not buying this to build a 26-lb wonderbike. You’re buying it because titanium holds up, rides well, and never looks dated.

  • It’s a frame you keep for a decade.
With ti, you’re not worried about rust, scratches, paint chips, or fatigue. It’s a “ride the hell out of it, wash it when you feel like it” kind of frame.

  • It fits the high-end custom build lane perfectly.
This is where boutique components, big forks, and careful spec choices make sense. Great canvas for a truly custom bike.

Who This Frame Makes Sense For

A rider who wants the Darco geometry and suspension behavior, but wants it in a chassis that’s premium, durable, and basically future-proof. Someone who keeps bikes longer than two seasons, and appreciates titanium without needing the bike to feel like a feather.

If you’re after the cheapest Darco, this isn’t it.
If you want the nicest execution of the platform — this is the one.
